Network Engineer

For both U.S. and German customers, install, configure and support Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) infrastructures for customers to support IP based video surveillance applications; execute planned physical installations of network equipment and testing/verifying functionality; monitor and document impact of operating IP video surveillance applications on existing customer LAN/WAN infrastructures and perform necessary maintenance/modifications to ensure network availability to systems, devices and users; deploy network security solutions to ensure security of IP video surveillance applications operating on stand-alone or shared network infrastructures; install and set-up predetermined network security appliances and software solutions to secure video surveillance networks from both external and internal threats; deploy company designed IP video surveillance solutions for customer specific applications; test, evaluate and document features and functionality of IP video surveillance software applications; provide customer support services related to IP video surveillance applications including troubleshooting and resolution of problems related to network functionality and system performance and stability; deploy data/back-up storage solutions, power protection solutions and remote monitoring/management solutions as they relate to IP video surveillance applications; install, set-up and test data back-up solutions, battery back-up systems and remote access/control solutions designed by senior technical staff; program web pages and web based applications.

Requires: Four (4) years experience in each of the following: developing, managing, and supporting advanced data network infrastructures; working w/Windows, Linux, MS Exchange Server, MS SharePoint Portal Server, MS Clustering; working with network traffic/bandwidth utilization using advanced network sniffing technologies/tools and monitoring applications; deploying firewall, authentication, VPN, intrusion detection, and remote access/control solutions, specifically Cisco, NetScreen, WatchGuard and SonicWall; Microsoft Active Directory administration, as well as LDAP administration; 3 yrs experience in each of the following: programming in HTML, XML, Active-X, Java, Microsoft.net framework, VisualStudio.net, Visual Basic, VBA, WMI, system management APIs, MacroMedia Dreamweaver and Flash; working with optical and laser imaging devices, range finding devices, and positioning systems; working with Adobe Video Collection (Premier Pro, After Affects, Audition, Encore DVD, PhotoShop); administrating and maintaining database applications, including SQL Server 7, SQL Server 2000, Oracle; 2 yrs experience in each of the following: working with streaming video media, specifically M-JPEG, MPEG, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, Windows Media Server, QuickTime Streaming Server, Real Server.
